Jewel walked along the river and sighed. She was feeling a little lonely and in need of some company from the pack. She walked over to the river and lapped the water up with her tongue. It was cool and felt nice as it went down her throat soothing every part of her body. She shook out her fur letting any water fall to the ground around her. Her soft brown eyes looked up at the sky and she smiled. Things would eventually be good again, she hoped. One day, she thought, one day peace would come again. Though deep inside she had her doubts.
She walked further along the river hoping to fun into another wolf. Hopefully from her pack and not Skyla. She growled at the thought of running into one of the enemy wolves. If she did she wouldn't let them have time to explain. She would be ready to kill. Although she didn't like killing if it wasn't necessary but she had to protect the pack. She perked up her ears as she heard something nearby and listened intently to her surroundings.

F l i n t;; The muscular brute padded through the river, his coat spakling with droplets of water from the luminous sun rays. Ever since his run-in with Katri, he stayed around the Liazo pack lands. Besides, it's been alittle quiet here ever since the first alphas vanished without a trace. On the plus side, he hasn't run into any Liazo pack members since then, so an incoming threat was the last thing on his mind. In fact, the only thing on his mind was that fae; Katri. He didn't exactly have a great intro with her.. he pretty much frightened the poor thing. How could anyone be afraid of his charming ways? All he wanted was to talk to her.. Ok, maybe not just that, but he had.. 'somewhat' good intentions. The last thing he was going to do was harm her. Hurting a femme was just against his nature.
Flint trotted up onto the bank and layed down, half of his body layed submeraged in the water to keep himself cool from the heat. It was actually pretty nice with no one bothering you, but after a while, it got kind of boring. There was no one to talk to, and doing the same thing everyday wasn't exactly exciting. Maybe he could change things up abit and see what the Skyla were up to.. maybe stir up some trouble for them. He shurged, thinking that it would be, by far, better then lying around doing nothing. Just as he was getting up, his auds perked to a faint growl. He stood silently still, not making a move. There was no way he heard someone.. This pack(so he thought) was deserted! He didn't even see any alpha's or beta's patroling the land here, unless it was just another loner like himself lurking around. He shoke his soaked pelt, letting water fly in all directions. Might as well see my little guest.. With silent steps, he moved forward to where the growl came from. As he moved though, an intoxicating scent hit him. A femme, no dought. A small smile crossed his muzzle. The idea of running around the Skyla causing havoc was banished from his thoughts, and followed the smell. Walking proudly through some bushes, he spotted the wolfess, a beautiful one at that. He sat a fair distance from her, showing that he was no threat. "Hello there," His smooth voice bekoned, and awaited for hers to echo back.

Jewel smelled the wolf coming before she saw it. One sniff at the air and she could tell he was a brute. He walked up to her and she smiled. Finally some company, but she still wasn't sure about him. She hadn't been in this pack very long, despite the fact she was the beta. She didn't think he was in Skyla because otherwise he'd have killed her by now. Or and least tried. But he was very muscular so she probably didn't have a good chance against him. Though she was a good runner.
She heard him talk in a smooth voice and she smiled at him. "Hello. My name is Jewel. And what might yours be?" she asked in her bell-like voice. She thought he seemed nice enough but wondered what his intentions were. She looked at him and walked around him slowly. She stopped and sat down when she got back in front of her. "Nice to meet you. Tell me, do you have a pack?" she asked hoping not to scare him away with all her questions. She was curious to know more about this brute.

Flint curled his furry banner around his paws as she introduced herself. He listened intently to her silky, lyrical voice, drinking in every word she spoke. Jewel. Flint repeated her name in his name, etching it in the back of his mind. The multi-hued brute smiled back and dipped his muzzle politely. "A beautiful name for a beautiful fae. My name is Flint." His velvety tones replied, his golden voids scanning the wolfess. She held herself in a dominant stature, no dought she was of high ranking. Yet, she didn't held it like an alphess, so she was possibly a betan. He lifted his cranium high once again, puffing out his chest in a pideful manner. He kind of expected her to drive him out of her territory, but the exact opposite happen. Instead, he watched as Jewel strut her way around him, as if she was analyzing him. He didn't come here as a threat, so he eased his mucles and produced a small quirk to his eyebrow. Somehow he thought that he might linger around the Liazo lands alittle while longer.
When the wolfess finally sat back on her haunches in front of him, his ears pricked foward to listen to her question. Another one of his warm smiles appeared on his visage, laughing inwardly to himself. "Nice meeting you as well.. And no, I reside in no pack. I'm just a loner." Just like his father, a loner walking the lands with one purpose. Apparently, as he heard from a few loners who happened to venture into this territory, there was a rumor going around that a certain Zentha was back, and detirmined to overthrow the Skyla to make it his own. He was unsure if the spoke of Zentha, his father, but perhaps he would seek him out sooner or later.. For now, he was going to be Jewels company. "..And I'm assuming you belong to the Liazo?" He finally questioned himself, tilting his head to the side slightly.

Jewel listened to his velvety voice. So his name was Flint. He had also called her beautiful. She sighed. Yeh right, she thought. He was just trying to make her feel good. She looked down. It was working. She looked up and couldn't help smiling back at his smile. It was beautiful. She hoped he wouldn't leave just yet. She didn't think it was possible for a brute this kind to not belong to a pack. But then again he could either be lieing or he prefered to be alone. She was fine with the second one but if it was the first she would be angry. Especially if he was Skyla. After all, Skyla would love to see the Beta fae of Liazo dead. She wouldn't let that happen though. She listened to him speak again and nodded slowly. "Yes. I'm the beta," she answered even though it wasn't really a question. He probably could've done without knowing the second part but Jewel was proud of that fact. She smiled at him kindly again. She liked him, and he was kind to her.

When he called her beautiful, he couldn't help but hear the audible sigh she loosened from her delicate little maw. He wasn't sure what that mean't, maybe plently of brutes said that.. he didn't know. He didn't want to say anything about it, not wanting to cause an argument with the fae. Then, he watched as her face lit up with a sparkling smile. That's what he wanted to see. Without realising it, his silvery tipped tail uncurled from his paws, and began to gently sway back and forth behind him. Now he definatly had no intentions of leaving just yet.
"Yes. I'm the beta."
So his assumptions were correct. But what about alpha's? Were there any present in the Liazo? Thus far, he didn't think they were. Coming out of his minds debates, he slowly rose upon sturdy legs and repeated what Jewel had done to him. He circled her, not in an itimidating manner, but more of a mock-proud sort of walk. Flashing a twinkling grin, he questioned, "Now why would a pretty little betan like yourself be wandering her packlands alone?" He was hoping she didn't take it the wrong way, but just in case he added, "Not that I'm planning on threatening your pack or anything." He felt a cool breeze swipe through his timber pelt, his auds twitching slightly to the songs of birds overhead.

The fae saw his large tail unfurl and go back forth behind him and smiled. At least he was happy. She watched him walk around her just as she had done and when she saw his grin she couldn't stop her own smile from widening further. When he questioned her she didn't know what to tell him. She didn't know if she could trust him just yet but still, he was growing on her. He seemed kind and had told her that he was a loner. But he had this presence that made her feel like she wanted to tell the truth.
Her soft brown eyes looked up at him and she waited a few seconds before answering. "I needed a drink," she told him then she shook her head. "And I also needed some time to think and clear my head." She didn't know why she told him that last part. She could've told him somthing like I was looking out for Skyla members to kill. But if she had told him that she would have left out the kill part. She couldn't stop herself from giggling at the last part he said. "It's okay. You would've done this already," she told him letting him know that she trusted him.

Salali stalked through the forest, ears straight up as she watched a small robin poking at the ground for worms. She always liked hunting birds the best; they were a challenge for her to catch. She waited for the perfect moment, crouched low, and pounced. The bird never knew what hit it. She was just about to carry it dutifully back to her pack when she heard the barking sound of two wolves speaking to one another. She set down her catch where she would remember its location, and crept silently closer. It became obvious quite quickly the first wolf was the beta of her pack, Jewel. But she didn't recognize the second scent, she could only tell he was a brute. The faintest growl escaped her and her ears pressed flat against her skull. When she got into hearing range, a slight shudder escaped her. The unfamiliar brute had a gorgeous, silky voice that sent shivers down her spine. But that made her trust him even less. She stopped and listened in on their conversation where she could just barely see the two canine figures through a bush. The more she listened, the less she trusted the stranger. She figured there were two possibilities; he was lying about being a loner, and planned on attacking her pack, or he was a simple womanizer. Either way, she didn't like it. Forgive me, Jewel, for acting out of turn, she apologized silently to the beta. She ran out of the bushes, stopping in a protective pose in between the two wolves, growling menacingly at the brute.

Flint tilted his head to the side abit as her sparkling amber voids looked at him and replied. What did she need to clear her head about? He would've asked, but he didn't want to seem insensitive towards her in asking such a personal question. Instead, he gave a simple nod of his head. The smiled warmly as he listened to her gigling, it made him chuckle slightly as well. It seemed like she trusted him in letting him stay and that she knew he wasn't a potential threat, so that was good. "Hmm, that's true." As soon as he said those simple words, an odd scent hit him. Yet, it was too faint, so he was unsure if it was a wolf or just some prey lurking in the shadows. He shurged it off for now, enjoying the femme's company.
As he was about to say something, he had realised that the scent had grown stronger, as if someone was zoning in on them. His ivory-tipped auds flicked to the slightest of noises, but he still could not detect whoever was around. Then out of nowhere, a wolfess bursted from the foliage, dashing straight for them. Flint quickly rose upon his legs in a defensive stance as the wolf skidded to a hault right in between them. The nape of his neck bristled, as did the rest of his back to make him look alot larger than he already was. But as he took in her scent, he realised that she was part of the Liazo as well. He lifted his head slightly, looking calmly into the eyes of the stranger. She seemed so angered by him being there, why he didn't know. Maybe it was because he wasn't part of this pack.. "It's fine, I'm not here for any trouble." The brute relaxed his muscles and held his head high, hopiong for at least a good reaction to come from the new wolfess.

Jewel watched Flint as he nodded. Good, he wasn't going to ask why she had needed to clear her head. He spoke to her but she wasn't listening. She had caught the scent of another wolf. It was distant so she didn't know who it was. As it got closer she could tell it was a fae. Suddenly, it was extremely close and she caught the scent on the wind. It was someone from her pack. She sniffed the air again. Salali was here. She had obviously been hunting because she could smell blood as well.
All of a sudden, Salali burst out of the forest and stood in between herself and Flint. She growled at Flint and he told her he was safe. I looked at Salali. "It's alright. He's safe," she told her. Then muttered under her breath, "I think." She watched Salali carefully making sure she wouldn't do anything stupid. She had acted without warning and Jewel was feeling angry now.

Salali turned back to look at Jewel. Her hearing was fine-tuned from all her experience as a hunter, and she didn't miss the barely audible 'I think'. She turned back towards him, shot him a last look of warning not to anger her, and sat down next to the beta. She was careful to set her posture in a way that would be appropriate for her rank, but still show dominance over the brute. She wanted to attack. She wanted to drive him away. He had no right to be here, trying to seduce the beta of a pack he didn't belong to. But aside from the alpha, the beta's word was law. She continued to glare at him, prepared to rip his throat out if he showed any signs of threat. But for now, she would wait, and allow the two to speak, never allowing the brute to leave her careful, calculating gaze.

Flint remained motionless untill the fae backed off. He had no intentions on harming her, so why was she so angered by his presence? The brute glanced at Jewel as she said he was safe, but couldn't make out what she mumbled after that. He looked back at the new wolfess, who gave him a warning glance, then sat next to her beta. Flint rose his head alittle higher, then sat back down onto his haunches. She didn't seem like a high rank, nor did she hold the stance of an alpha. He assumed she was a sub'ordinate of the Liazo, but she looked as if she was holding a dominant posture over him. Plus, she was sending him a deadly glare, as if she was about to lunge at him and maul the brute to death. Is that supposed to be a threat..? He pondered, but wouldn't dare to speak anything of it. Besides, he was never rude to the ladies.
Attempting to ignore the femme's scornful eyes, he shifted back his luring eyes to the betan. "So.. are you the onlu two members in this pack?" He asked, trying to forget about the tenseness in the air. Thus far, they were the only two wolves he's seen around here that resided with the Liazo, other than Katri. Yet, he hadn't seen her in quite a while. Perhaps he did scare her away.. He looked back at the multi-hued wolfess, and his recent thoughts vanished once more. That was Flint, always forgetting about everything when in the presence of a fae.

Salali watched the brute like a hawk as he asked if she and Jewel were the only pack members. It didn't sound right. Almost like a war general probing for the enemy's weak points. Perhaps she was just overprotective, as everyone always told her. But her past had taught her not to trust any wolves she didn't know personally. Always expect the worst, because most plan on committing the worst. Salali thought back to rumors she had heard, and scents she had caught while hunting. Liazo only had four members, counting herself. As far as she knew, there were no Exousia pack members at the moment. Xyla only had two, they wouldn't be able to win a fight against the Liazo. But Skyla...Last she heard, Skyla had seven members. Odds would be in their favor if they decided to attack again. She didn't know who all the Skyla members were, and if this brute was one of them...Her pack could be in great danger. Her gaze flickered towards Jewel. She would already be in trouble for her previous intrusion, and there still was a small chance he really was a loner. But if Jewel allowed the brute to charm her into revealing their relatively small pack, and he was a Skyla, things would be very bad. Her mind raced as she tried to think of a way out of the touchy situation. "What interests you so about the size of our pack, outsider?" Salali asked carefully, hoping Jewel would get the hint not to reveal too much.

Jewel watched Salali carefully as she sat down next to her. The way she held herself would make it easy for Flint to guess she wasn't a high rank. She didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Jewel watched as Flint rose himself higher and smiled. He obviously wanted to show that he was higher than Salali but Jewel didn't think much of it.
Flint asked here how many wolves there were in her pack and when Salali answered him with another question Jewel got a bit more angry. Although, Salali was right. She was giving her a hint which Jewel took instantly. "Calm down Salali I told you he was safe. And Flint right now I'm very sorry but I still don't know whether I can completely trust you so I'm not going to answer your question. Because I think that's a little unfair you may ask me another question. But nothing about the pack. Okay?" She thought this was reasonable and if Salali interrupted again she would definetely be hearing from her. Jewel smiled at the brute again showing him that she still trusted him enough for now.

"What interests you so about the size of our pack, outsider?"
Before the betan had to say anything, her pack member was quick to jump ahead of her with a question of her own. She seemed alittle sensitive about him and what he said, so he would have to chose his words carefully with her so he wouldn't start anything unessicary. "Nothing really, I've just been wandering this packlands for quite some time now, and you two are the first I've seen that are actually apart of the Liazo." He was here all that time, and he never started anything then, and he wouldn't start anything.. at least, not yet. It was true, he plan was overtaking the four notorious packs on the island, mostly for the fae's, but his plan is on hold. After hearing about his father, Zentha lurking around the island, his new plan was to find him. Yet, being lazy and carefree around this territory didn't exactly make his plan anymore sucessful.
Flint turned his attention back to the betan once again and listened attentively. Yet another smile graced his maw and bowed his head slightly in respect to her dicision. "Fair enough." He understood the fact that they didn't trust them so much, after all, he was just a loner who showed up in there lands. Especially this Salali. She didn't seem to like him at all. He raised his head back up, not sure of what else he could ask that didn't include the pack. Then, one popped into his head. "Well.. Do you happen to know where Zentha is..?" It was a touchy subject, but anything would help in finding his father. As far as anyone knew, Zentha had no family left. No mate, no children, nothing. That is, no one knew that he does have a son that's alive.
