Jewel's response was a clear warning to Salali not to push her luck any further. But she was happy that Jewel took her hint. When the brute asked his new question, her ears perked up in surprise. What on earth would he want with Zentha? She had heard the rumors about him being spotted on the island recently, yes, but she thought they were just that--rumors. She stared hard at him, trying to decide what his motivations were. Was he an ally or an enemy to Zentha? Did he want to find him to kill him? Or help him? The brute betrayed nothing. She couldn't tell why he was curious where Zentha was. She glanced over at Jewel again, wondering what she would say, and whether or not it would be the right response.

Jewel was glad that Flint had accepted her response. His other question was rather strange though. She had heard that Zentha was back but didn't know why Flint would be asking about him. What a waste of a question, she thought. He could've asked anything else but no. He just had to ask about someone that might not even be real. No-one had actually seen him. Well, no one that she knew had actually seen him. She had heard the rumors and hoped that they would remain rumors. She wasn't sure of what would happen if Zentha did come back. And she also wondered what the brute would want with him. Salali glanced at her again. Good. She knew what she had done was wrong and she was going to correct it. Hopefully. She could tell Salali wanted to know what to say. Jewel shot her a glance that said, don't say anything. Let me answer. She looked at Flint and smiled. "No. I don't know where Zentha is. Why do you want to know? If you don't mind me asking," she asked the brute. After all, it was only fair that he answered her question. He had asked her one no she had asked him one. Though she thought he probably wouldn't answer. If he said the wrong thing he'd be ripped to shreds in an instant.

Just his luck. As soon as he asked that question, they looked at him as if he was insane. He could tell right away by jugding the surprised looks on the faces that they didn't know where he was. They probably thought he was just a fairytale like so many others thought. He wondered if he was the only one who really knew that he was real, and not some crazy made-up legend. He was his father, but he somehow dissappeared when his mother went to find him. Then she mysteriously vanished too. All he wanted to know was what happened to his parents, and seeing that he couldn't find his mother, he set out for his father, who just happened to appear around the island.
Flint looked back at the two, who were shooting odd glances at each other with he could not decifer. Yeah. They definatly thought he was insane. The brute listened to Jewel, who was now questioning him back. He was about to open his maw to tell her, but the words died in his mouth before he spoke them. He couldn't just say that he was his son. Then he'd really feel the wrath of the Liazo, something he wasn't too keen on getting. "Just wondering, that's all.. I heard he reappeared on the island." He wasn't lieing, he just excluded the fact that he was his offspring. He imagined what would happen if he went parading around, telling others that he was his son. He either get laughed at, or mauled to death.

When Jewel looked at Salali, she bowed her head like a scolded child. Jewel had misinterpreted her glance as asking for permission to speak. Once the two were alone again, she would apologize for her actions, and explain that she was curious to see what Jewel would say to the brute. But when she spoke, Salali pushed the thought out of her mind and listened intently to what she said. She examined the brute, judging his reaction. He started to say something, paused for the briefest of moments, and said he was just wondering. Her suspicions and distrust came racing back. What had he been about to say? He was obviously hiding something from them. At this point, all she wanted was for him to leave so she could talk to Jewel in private.

Jewel watched Salali bow her head and she nodded to her letting her know all was forgiven. She smiled at the brute when he was about to talk but then he stopped. Obviously he didn't want to say what he was about to say. Instead his other answer was a lot better. She wondered about what he was going to say but then shoved the thought out of her mind. "Yes. I heard that too," she told Flint. Then she turned to Salali. She gave her a look that said, feel free to say anything right now but don't patronise him. She thought she'd let Salali interrogate him for a while and then she could take over later on. She turned back to Flint and flashed him a smile. Her soft brown eyes watched him carefully. If Salali said anything to upset him and then he attacked she'd be ready.

"Yes. I heard that too."
So they seemed to know about his fathers arrival as well. As he had thought before, it was a touchy subject to bring up. He was right. The two before him seemed alittle tense now, and most likely suspecious as to why he would talk about such 'nonsense'. Everything was going just fine before he brought that up.. and before the other fae came. So far, his run in's with others hadn't been so perfect. The first wolf he met, he scared away to god knows where. Now with these two; one was looking angered at him, knwoing too well that she was probably holding the rage she could unleash at any given moment if her betan commanded the order. The other.. Jewel, she was a pretty little fae with dazzling eyes that obviously swayed his heart, but now she seemed to lose the trust she had in him in just a few moments. Oh yes, he must be a great wolf for meeting others.
Flint caught yet another glance being exchanged between the femme's. Now he assumed something was up. What he wouldn't do to know what they were thinking. Were they planning on attacking him? Driving him out of their lands? So many questions flowed through his mind, but as usual, he didn't have any answers for them. He'd just have to be patient and hope for the best.

When she saw her beta's look, Salali mentally smiled. He was hers now. She would find out his true motivations, and whether he was a threat. But she still couldn't be too harsh...She looked at him hard, trying to think of the best things to ask and just the right ways to word her questions. "I always thought Zentha was just a legend. You actually believe the rumors he exists and is on the island?" She asked, a playful, teasing tone coming into her voice. She moved on to her next question without pause. "And I couldn't help but overhear you say you were a loner...But I'm sure even loners know about the four packlands. What motivated you into coming here, of all places? Do you have a connection to the Laizo?" Salali patiently awaited his response, ready to analyze his every move, word, glance...

The betan watched Salali to make sure she didn't do or say anything stupid. She hoped that the fae wouldn't say anything too mean or harsh. When she asked the first question Jewel frowned. She too had thought Zentha was a legend and when Salali said it this way she looked at Flint. He believed the rumours and had asked the question. Maybe he was crazy, but maybe he was right. What was she thinking? He wasn't crazy but he also wasn't right. Salali obviously didn't trust him but Jewel still did. The fae's second question, she thought, wasn't the best question to ask. It might be a personal matter. Maybe one of his parents or relatives was in this pack and had died. That was stupid! No one in their pack had died recently anyway. She looked at Flint and awaited his answers, for she too, wanted to know what the brute had to say. Her ears were perked up, her soft brown eyes on his and her whole body moved slighty forward. Waiting, waiting...

Flint sat in silence as Salali bombarded him with questions. He felt like he was being interragated for murder, when all he did was try to make conversation. However, he listened to her playful tone in her voice, taking in every word. The first question had a simple answer for him, so his calm expression remained on his face, the same charming smile gracing his maw. "Yes, I do. I've been told his been seen around the neautral lands, and that he had a run in with a few wolves." Of course, he didn't know any details; he wasn't there. But if that's what he heard from others, then he would believe it.
Flint pondered her next question for a moment. What was he really doing around here? Nothing.. He just lazed around her for quite a while, going about his daily business. But her next question sparked the reoccuring thought once more. She wasn't nessicarily a connection, but he had met Katri here awhile ago. Although, for all he knew she could have been a loner just like him, just passing there their territory. "What motivated me to this territories was my legs," He teased, chuckling softly. Making sure he didn't offend them, he added on a more serious note, "I have no connections to the Liazo, and I just came here one day by chance." Once again, he told the honest truth. He had just wandered into the Liazo's pack, and that was it.

Salali nodded. She realized now how easy those questions were to answer without giving anything away. She tried to think hard about her next ones. Honestly, she had never been an interrogator before, and she was at a bit of a loss. Still, she had to try. She was determined to protect her pack, no matter what. She couldn't help but feel a bit pathetic. She was extremely fast, she was the best hunter of the Liazo, she could take down any animal she set her eyes on, and yet she couldn't even ask a few simple questions. She watched the brute as the silence stretched on. Not wanting to show any weaknesses, she asked a couple to fill the gap. "You know, most lone wolves I've seen were once part of a pack, or had connections to a pack. Do you have any yourself? And for someone who just wandered in here," she sniffed the air, judging his scent trail, "you seemed to know your way around pretty well." Her next question was one of simple curiosity. "By the way I never did catch your name...?"

Jewel listened to Flint answer the first question. That's exactly what she had heard. He paused after Salali's second question and she was just about to interrupt when he answer. She smiled at this but then made a straight face with authority. He answered more seriously and she smiled at him. The questions were easy to answer which was good. She didn't want Salali asking him any bad questions that would hurt his feelings or scare him away. Salali asked him about being a loner and if he had ever belonged to a pack. Jewel also wanted to kno this and she looked at the brute with a questioning look on her face. Yes, she thought. He did seem to know his way around pretty well. But maybe that was just coincidence. He might have been here before a long time ago, though she highly doubted it. She asked his name and Jewel smiled. He hadn't told the hunter his name but she knew it. Only, she wanted him to answer just incase. It's not that she didn't trust him, it was that she trusted him less than she did before the questioning started. She looked at the brute and pondered. Was Flint even his real name?

Flint pondered about Salali's next question. Of course he was once apart of a pack, being a loner as a young pup wouldn't exactly work out well. But if he uttered the name of the pack he resided in when he was younger, would just give him an early death sentence. When he was abandoned as a pup, an wolfess took him into her pack;the Skyla. He wasn't about to say that he was in there pack, for he knew too well that both packs were sworn enemies. Even though he left the Skyla, he doughted that these two would take pity on him and let a former member of there enemy pack go. He noticed the fae snif the air, probably testing the air for any pack scents on him. She wouldn't be able to pick any on him then, for he left his former pack at least for a year and a half now. "No, I was not in any pack recently, and I know this place well because I have wandered your land for awhile." His cunning words were true yet again. He wasn't in any pack recently, but he did answer her question. Flint stole a glance of the betan sitting next to her, letting a warm smile appear on his maw.
"By the way I never did catch your name...?"
Flint turned his attention back to Salali, and flashed her a smile as well. He bowed his head slightly in a polite manner, and introduced himself. "My name is Flint. Nice to meet you," His velvety voice replie. He didn't bother to ask for her name, he already knew it when Jewel called her that. He rose to his paws, and only now did he realize how much smaller the little interragator really was. Well, she certainly made up for it with her bold ways. He looked between the two with his russet banner swaying silently behind him. "If you want me to leave, you could just say so." He was sure that small wolfess wanted him out of here as soon as possible, but he wasn't so certain for Jewel. He waited for an answer anyways, his charming smile still placed upon his muzzle.

"No, I was not in any pack recently." The word choice was not lost on Salali. It seemed he was committed to telling the truth, but only as much truth as would keep him alive. She considered the consequences of asking him if he had any malicious intentions for her pack, but decided against it. She was just about to ask another question, when he rose. She stiffened, prepared for an attack, but was shocked by what he said. Could she have been wrong about him? If he intended harm, why would he be so willing to leave? No...She wasn't ready to decide he wasn't an enemy quite yet. Perhaps he was planning on a surprise attack later...Either way, it didn't matter what she thought. She turned to her beta, still watching Flint in her peripheral vision, wondering what Jewel would say.

Jewel listened to Flint's answer but noted the word choicing. She would remember that one word in future. She wondered what pack he had belonged to when he was a pup but didn't ask. She didn't want to offend him. He told Salali his name and she smiled. He was telling the truth and she knew now that she could trust him. At least, she thought she could trust him. He stood up and her whole body stiffened, watching him carefully. What he said next was amazing. She shook her head and stood up also. She felt the other fae's eyes on her and she looked up at Flint. "No. Don't leave just yet," she told him. She didn't want him to leave. She liked him, he was strange but she hardly knew him and she wanted to know more. She sat back down next to Salali and smiled at her. She was behaving herself now and that was good.

"No. Don't leave just yet."
Flint's topaz orbs flickered over to the betan who rose to her dainty mitts. At first, they both held the same, surpised expression as he asked if he should take his leave. He just assumed that they were glad that he asked. Instead, she didn't want him to go. So she did want him to stay after all.. The timber brute couldn't help but quirk an eyebrow at the wolfess, taking one step closer. "Might I ask why you want me to stay?" He was curious to know. He was sure for a moment that they would both ask him to leave. Or maybe they weren't done interrogating him.. Flint pushed those thoughts aside and fixated his focus back onto Jewel. She certainly piqued his interest the moment he laid eyes on her. He watched as she sat back down and smiled at Salali. He wasn't sure what that mean't, but he shruged it off and sat back down as well, waiting for her reply.
