Everything was silent and the Spring air was warm. One lone fae was wandering around the ruins. No one knew why she was there and neither did she but that doesn't change the fact that she was there. Her coat was shining in the light of the sun and her ears were perked up and listening for the slightest sound.
She was lonely and without warning she threw her head back and struck a long sweet note. The howl could be heard all around the Liazo lands and she wondered if anyone would come to her. She wanted someone to speak to. She didn't mind who, just as long as they weren't Skyla.
She saw a bright silvery light nearby and walked over to the source. All she found was a small piece of glass so she walked back to were she had been sitting before. It was a shady spot, until the sun had moved, underneath a large poplar tree. She looked up and saw a bird in the bushes looking down at her. "Hello little birdy." She sighed when she realised that she was talking to a bird.
She lay down again and closed her eyes though she wasn't tired. She would be able to fool a wolf into thinking she was asleep but her ears were wide open and she was listening for the slightest sound of a wolf or bear coming towards her.

Silent paws hit the ground as Eipha padded through the undergrowth, she hummed to herself quietly, which would be quiet a sight for any passers by. The Fae had heard rumours that the Liazo had gained a few new members since she in herself had joined, but she had not seen anyof them yet. Usualy, Eipha kept herself to herself, she was a mysterious wolf, who didn't realy communicate with others unless she realy had to, but today, she was feeling a little more talkative. She had the earge to just run up to any old creature, no matter what species, size and language, and have a fully fledged, long conversation with them, which realy was odd for her.
Her ears pricked as the gently, eerie sound of a wolfs beautiful howl echoed through the trees. "Finnaly, someone to talk to." She said happily to herself, ignoring the soft wispers that surrounded her. When walking through this area, one always got the sence of being watched, as if their was a presence that you could not see. She would sometimes sit and talk to herself, and would often hear someone reply, but when she looks to see who it is, no one is there. This would usualy freak a wolf out, but not Eipha it didn't bother her in the slightest. She knew what it was, anyone with sence would be able to figure it out. Their were Centaurs on the Island, and other creatures beyong normality, so their could be spirits, enities, ghosts. Thats what the voices were.
Eipha padded quietly towards the location from which the wolf song had come from. It took her a little longer then she expected, but she got there. She could see a fae, sleeping underneaththe shade of a tree. Eipha had not seen this wolf before, but she could tell she was a Liazo from her scent. She slowly padded up to the Fae, not wanting to wake her unexpectedly.

Jewel could hear the fae walking up easily and could tell she was trying to be quiet. Jewel's ears were perfectly tuned to hear the slight movements of an incoming fae and her nose could smell Liazo on her. She sniffed the air more carefully and caught the wiff of female. The she-wolf opened her eyes quickly and sat up looking at the fae that had just entered her sights.
"Welcome," she said though she did not know this fae in particular. Although Jewel was the betan she still didn't know everyone in the pack but she did know that it had increased in size. She smiled at the new she-wolf and her white teeth flashed in the sunlight showing their sharpness and size. "I'm Jewel, incase you didn't know," she spoke softly in a bell like voice but didn't tell her status. Instead she held herself high and kept her stance superior, though she didn't know the rank of the other wolf. Her tail was held high but not as high as an alphas would be.
She got up and walked around the other fae as she always did when she met someone new but hoped that this act wouldn't offend her. She sized her up and, of course, the other she-wolf was larger. Jewel was small for her age but fast and smart. She sat down in front of the other fae and watched her with a smile waiting for her to speak.

The Fae seemed to notice her before Eipha realised, as she made her jump when a voice seemed to come from the "sleeping" Fae.
'Welcome.' Eipha smiled at the wolf as her head turned to look at her. Now she was closer, her scent was stronger. Eipha could tell that she was the Beta, the very wolf she was suppost to speak to, but why? She knew their was something she had to tell her, but what was it? Now that she knew the Faes rank, she automaticaly lowered herself, as to not be as large as the Betan.
'I'm Jewel, incase you didn't know.' Jewel. what was she suppost to tell Jewel? It was definatly something important, but what? Cursing herself quietly for her bad memory, she concentrated back on the she-wolf. "I am Eipha, nice to meet you. You are the Beta of Liazo?" She said softly of her back legs, enjoying the gentle breeze that was flowing through the scene.
Eipha watched as Jewel stood up, and walked around her, circling her as she sat. She wasn't sure what she was looking for, or inspecting, or infact, what she was doing, but the Fae sat proudly anyway, not wanting to be intimidated, as she usualy was when in contact with those of a higher rank. However, she made sure she wasn't as high as the Fae that stood infront of her. A sudden noise behind her made her swivel her head round, but to see nothing. For a minute, Eipha thought she had caught an unfamiliar scent, but it passed before she could analize what it was.
Then it hit her, what she was suppost to be telling the Beta of Liazo. "I bring you a message. The Alphess, Chesire, has dissapeared, that leaves you incharge as the Beta, untill you claim the rank as Alpha, or someone else does." She said, getting straight to the point. Eipha had been told, by whom she did not know, that the Beta must be told about the alphas dissapearence, and she had set about doing so, but unfortunatly, her short memory caused some trouble, and she had forgotten all about it. She concentrated back on Jewel, awaiting her reply.

Eipha. She had a nice name and for some reason Jewel knew she had heard it somewhere. She thought back to when she had joined the pack and become the betan but her memory failed her. She normally had a good memory but maybe she hadn't heard that name before. Eipha had lowered herself and obviously knew of Jewel's rank. She smiled at the fae, "yes. I am the Beta of Liazo."
She noticed that Eipha had something else on her mind and it was obviously distracting her. She spoke and for some reason Jewel couldn't believe what she was saying. Wow. She didn't like being first in command and that was why she had become the beta not the alpha. She was in charge now and she knew she wasn't going to be the alphess but she did have to think of who would take over. "Thank you for telling me. I don't really want to be the alpha thought," she pondered at what she would say next. She smiled and said, "Eipha, tell me something. Have you ever wanted to be alpha yourself?" She didn't know why she said it but she thought that maybe Eipha would be a good alpha. After all, she had remembered to give her that important message. She grinned at the fae and waited for her to answer the stupid question Jewel had placed before her.

'Thank you for telling me. I don't really want to be the alpha though' Her words suprised Eipha, and she was even a little disapointed, although she did not let it show. If it was one thing she was good at, it was hiding her true emotions. She could picture Jewel being an Alpha, and being it well, so was shocked when she had said she didn't want it.
]'Eipha, tell me something. Have you ever wanted to be alpha yourself?' This question realy did catch her off guard, suprising her deeply. She thought for a minute, trying to remember anytime that she had considered it. "Truthfully, no. I have always been happy with just being a member, plus, being incharge doesn't suit me, i'm not very good at it." She said with a laugh.
She stiffened as a smell met her nose, this time she definatly smelt it. Blood. The sweet smell made her belly rumble quietly, as she had not eaten for a while, with other things occupyingher mind. She twisted her head around to examine the trees behind her, but saw nothing. Yet the smell of blood was still coming strong.

Jewel noticed the question had caught Eipha off guard and she too laughed at her answer. For a while she said nothing and wondered about what it would be like to be an alpha. She didn't want to let anyone down. She also thought that if the position was up for grabs maybe a Skyla would try to overthrow the pack. She growled at this thought but stopped and looked at Eipha. "Do you think I would be any good as an alpha?" she asked with a more serious tone in her voice.
She noticed Eipha stiffen and she too smelt the air. She could smell the strond stench of blood on the air. "What do you think it is?" she asked softly her whole body stiffening as she rised onto her toes ready to spring. She looked around herself and watched the other fae carefully. She didn't want anything to happen to Eipha and she would personally make sure nothing did. It was at that moment that Jewel realised she was behaving like an alpha and she made a pact with herself that she would take over the role even though she would not admit she was scared. She felt that if anything happened to anyone in the pack it would be her fault. She nodded silently and looked around herself and Eipha very carefully.

Eipha looked back at the Fae as she let out a little growl. The smell of blood was still lurking strongly in the air, and it egged Eipha on, trying to draw her in. She knew full well what it probably was, she had only seen one of them on the Island before, but they were dangerous, usually only coming out in the dark. They merceyless creatures, not stepping out of the way for anything, and even give the centaurs a run for their money. Just having the sence of one in their presence made Eipha feel uneasy.
'Do you think i would be a good Alpha?' The voice of her Beta caught her by suprise, she had been so engrosed in her thoughts that the sound made her jump. Was Jewel actualy considering it? Her heart took a leap, having Jewel as an Alpha would probably be the best thing to ever happen to this pack. She had proven herself as capable since Chesire had dissapeared, keeping Skyla at bay, and keeping the pack together, stopping them all from going mad. "Of course! You've looked after the pack extremely well since Chesires dissapearance! You'd make the pack more, well ... more like a pack." She said, enthusiasm edging into the words. How badly she wanted Jewel to become Alphess, it was in the packs best interest! It would be healthy.
'What do you think it is?' She didn't want to alarm Jewel, any sudden movements would provoke it to attack, and they certainly didn't want that. Two wolves would not stand a chance against a vampire wolf. They were extremely strong, extremely fast, and often had speciel gifts mortals could only dream of. "I have an idea, lets just hope i'm wrong. We should move, now, but slowly, don't get up to quickly." It felt strange telling the Beta what to do, but it was nessasery, if she were to tell it to her straight, then their was a good chance she would freak out, and that was the most dangerous thing to do. So, to make it less awkward, she lowered her body resepctadly, so she was not as large as her Beta. She cast an uneasy glance at the place where the smell was coming from, making it known that she knew it was there.
(( I'm going to turn Eipha into a vampire wolf, so when it attacks, it will bite her, let me know if you want it to bite Jewel as well ))

Jewel beamed when she heard what Eipha said but the smile disappeared when she grew tense. She was watching Eipha with extreme caution now but didn't really know the danger she was in.
"We should move, now, but slowly, don't get up to quickly." It felt weird having Eipha tell the beta what to do but she trusted her friend and did exactly what she said. Eipha obviously knew what they were up against even if she didn't. Jewel felt scared but she made sure not to show it on her face as she stood up so slowly and with so much caution she seemed like she was hardly moving at all. She looked in the direction of Eipha's gaze but couldn't see anything, although, she could still smell the horrible stench that was coming from that area.

; ; E i p h a ; ; Switching glances between the darkness and Jewel, the feeling of uneasyness over took Eipha like never before. She got thst terrible feeling that some one, or something, was watching them, biding its time. If the wolf were to attack, then their was little hope for the two of them, all they could do was prey that it wasn't thristy.
She stood up after Jewel, who was making every movement slow. The Fae tried to be as smooth and slow as she could, not wanting to make any sudden movements, but it was hard. Her heart was screaming for her to run, to make a break for it, all her organs trying to escape the sights of this creature, but she knew she couldn't, for more than one reason. One, running suddenly would provoke it, and therefor put Jewel in great danger, and two, she would never be able to outrun it anyway.
Eipha began to walk slowly away from the darkness, keeping alert from any movements coming from there. At one time, she thought she caught something shifting, but then it settled down again, but this only made her more scared. Her heart was throbbing now, she could almost hear its beats. Fear was close to over taking her body, and so, in an attemp to calm herself down, she spoke. "Jewel, so you want to know what it is?" She said these words very quietly, a wisper, only just loud enough for the Beta to hear. She cast a quick glance at the darkness again, but that was a bad idea. For a minute, just one, very tiny minute, she thought she had seen a pair of large, glowing red eyes. ; ; V a m p i r e w o l f ; ; Sitting in the shadows, unseen by all, but one it seemed. The smaller of the two seemed oblivious to his existance, but the bigger, seemed to know something was there, watching them.
The scent of the two femmes was over ruleing. Oh, how much he wished to run in there, attack, and drink from their wounds. But he musn't. He must bide his time. Playing with food was always fun, especially when they were thick, and tried to fight their way out.
He smiled to himself, watching them closely. They were moving now, both apparently aware of a presence. They were wise, he could give them that, moving slowly, keeping an eye out for any sudden movements. It wouldn't stop him though, he would attack, give it a couple more minutes. Both shall be dead.

Jewel watched Eipha carefully as she looked back between her and the darkness. A few times she thought she saw a pair of red eyes looking back at her but she dismissed it and looked back at the other fae.
"Jewel, so you want to know what it is?" Jewel was scared to answer but she did anyway. It was so quiet so as not to scare the creature or whatever it was. "Yes." She looked at Eipha and then at the darkness and a slight shiver went down the back of her spine. She had no idea what she was up against but he definitely didn't want to find out.

'yes.' Eipha could hear the uncertainty in her voice, but, the Beta had a right to know what they were being watched by, and she would need to know as well, in case it attacked. "But you have to promise not to make any sudden jumps, not to freak out or anything?" Yet again, she was telling her Beta what to do, but this time, she said it as a question, not a demand. If Jewel wanted to freak out, then she could, it just wouldn't be good for them both.
She cast another glance, catching a glimps of the eyes again. The two of them were moving forward, but, apparently, so was the Vampire wolf, only it appeared to be bringing the darkness with it. 'Oh please god don't attack us, please dont attack us.' She repeated these words over and over again in her head, pleading with the creator of the Island to take this demon away from them.
"It's coming closer." She muttered to herself, not realising that she had said it out loud. Eipha carried on walking, quickening her pace just slightly. "Oh god its following us." Yet again, she had not realised that she had said it out loud. The Fae could feal the fear pounding in her chest again. Was this the creatures first attack, was this how it weakened its victims? Making them scared, when it hadn't even shown its self yet. She began to panick. Would it be the right thing to do, to tell Jewel. Would she freak out, just like Eipha was beginning to do now? Would she be able to handle it?

Jewel looked at Eipha and nodded slowly. She wouldn't freak out or make any sudden movements. She was too scared to talk and she didn't even know why. She could almost feel her own heart beating. Eipha didn't help much either. She just picked up on the other fae's fright and that made her even more scared. She was battling with her instincts. The instinct to fight or flee and right now she wanted to flee but she couldn't.
She spotted a pair of eyes in the darkness but made herself look away. Eipha's words made her terrified and she thought that right now she might never get to prove herself as alpha. A shiver went down her spine and she looked at the ground. You are not going to die, she told herself quietly in her mind but even then she had her doubts.

She could see Jewel walking beside her, but everything else was a blur. Her eyes were beginning to mist over in panick. She had to keep calm! This was life threatening! Not only her won life, but her future Alphess' too! Eipha had a feeling Jewel would turn out Alphess sometime in the future, she had the makings of one, that was if they made it out of this mess alive.
A sudden snap of a twig being stepped on behind her made her whip her head around. Her heart took a leap at what she saw. 'Oh no... Please no... Please please please... no...' She begged with herself, not wanting to see what she was seeing. This wasn't a nightmare, although what was in her view was a creature that belonged in nightmares. This was real. they were going to die. They would both be killed. Eipha emitted a low growl. Walking towards them, was a pitch black wolf. It was larger than normal wolves, but that was probably just its growth, nothing to do with what it actualy was. It had its blood red eyes glued to Jewel, and it smiled warmly, trying to draw her in with its special powers.
Vampire wolves were made to kill. Everything about them. They were strong. They were fast. And they were beautiful. the look of them was enough to lure a victim in, they practically invited any other wolf into them, making them think they were not dinner, but a friend. Eipha glanced at Jewel, watching for a reaction, She must not go near him! He'd make mince meat of both of them!

Jewel didn't dare to look anywhere but at the strange glowing eyes. She was afraid to look away in case it attacked. Her whole body was nearly shaking and she was terrified but she tried desperately to hide it. She heard a twig snap and her eyes shut tight. She opened them again and finally saw the strange creature. It was just a wolf but large and black. She growled softly as she realised what it was. It was beautiful and was looking straight at her. She started walking towards it. She had to get closer. She stepped on a twig and the sound was enough to snap her back into consiousness. She started walking slowly back to Eipha her eyes still on the vampire wolf.
