Finn+
The whole forest surrounding the pulsing river seemed to freeze with anticipation. Leaves seemed to quiver as they waited silently for the deed to be done. In an instant, it was. A black blur shot out of the bushes, the sound of a snarl interrupting the tense silence that had reigned just moments before. The victim became clear in a moment - a hare head popped up from the grass and tried to bolt, but the Fae wolf was already upon it. With a flash of white fangs, its life was ended.
Finn raised her head, gazing up at the sky. Though the sun shined down brightly, the wind smelled of rain and rustled through Finn's fur like fingers probing for ticks. Still, it appeared that the thunderstorm that was imminent might hold off at least until sundown, which was good. The pack had hardly eaten yet today, and Finn hoped to have time to send out a hunting party before the rain finally fell.
Licking the stray blood that had seeped in around her chops, Finn dropped the rabbit for a moment to pad over to the river. She bent down and lapped up a few mouthfuls of the frigid water. Giving thanks to the gods for the easy kill, Finn shook out her fur and turned to leave, before a loud snap made her halt.
"Who's there?" she snarled, her fur standing on end as she whirled in open hostility. The sound came from downwind of her, so she couldn't properly smell who it was through the scent of blood and rain that also invaded. Finn turned to face the sound, her lips beginning to curl. Lately she had been on edge - more so then usual. War seemed much too close for her comfort, and since she had yet to find a mate and have pups, the future of her pack looked bleak.
